An open letter to my precious husband, Dave:
Eleven years ago today, I said these words to you:
“I, Edwina, take you, Dave, to be my wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish ’till death do us part. And hereto I pledge you my faithfulness.”
These last eleven years have been an amazing journey through health and sickness, through good times and bad. Yet, you’ve never changed. Always the steady, solid, calm person against my frantic sometimes near-hysteria. You have grounded me, taught me to “go with the flow.” Well, most of the time . . .
Your love has and continues to give me security. I love to come home every day, knowing that you are here, waiting for me–sometimes with dinner cooked.
Your encouragement and faith in me have motivated me to do things I never thought I could do and to become the person that God created me to be from the very beginning.
I love you with all my heart, forever and always,
